Visit the places important to London's Muslim community - both those born in the city and those newly arrived - in this informative short documentary, sponsored by the Foreign Office and the Central Office of Information. The film offers the Arabic-speaking viewer information and reassurance about where they can find community and resources. Among the locations visited are the Islamic Cultural Centre in Regent's Park, the Shah Jehan Mosque in Woking, and the British Museum's oriental room, for a glimpse at its collection of rare copies of the Qur'an. *To enable subtitles for this film, once playing select CC in the video playback bar (at the bottom of the screen) and select Closed Captions = On.*
The film also features illuminating interviews with Dr Awad, the director of the Islamic Cultural Centre; Riad ad-Droobee, the Centre's secretary; Mr Abdelmeggid of the Islamic Review; Mohamad Tofeil, the imam of the Shah Jehan Mosque; and Mahdi Khourani, an Islamic scholar.
