Overview

Fourteen years before the pitch invasion that followed Hereford Utd's defeat of Newcastle, one of the biggests FA Cup upsets of all time, here they are at the same stage of the competition. As in 1972 the loyal fans packed Edgar Street, a ground that with its close proximity to the livestock market has been known to have cows paraded across it! Although it can be hard to follow the action in this amateur film Hereford went down by three goals to nil to their Yorkshire visitors.

Hereford remained in the Southern League until they were elected to play in the Football League in 1972. They continued in the lower tiers of the league game until debt problems forced their winding up in December 2014.
