Storm
The damage caused to the east coast in '53 floods was extensive. Mundesley GP, Dr Hugh Miller was on hand at first light to film the storm and the subsequent defence installations.

Overview
Living in Mundesley, Dr Miller and his family were there to witness the full force of the great storm that hit the Norfolk Coast at the end of January 1953. The aftermath revealed beach and cliff damage and erosion and a big investment of time and money was needed to repair the damage and go some way to protect against future batterings. Dr Miller regularly visited the beach with his camera, friends, wife and enthusiastic dalmation-cross dog, Reymer and recorded the progress.
