The Taylor Family Days Out
In 1959, the extended Taylor family head to the Norfolk coast every Sunday for picnics and a lark about.

Overview
This is a wonderful family film; a compilation of get-togethers in 1959 for the extended Taylor family (which includes the filmmakerβs in-laws the Tongs). The film's donor remarks, βAs you may have noticed we are a very large family and in those days we would all go everywhere on a Sunday together. My parentsβ catering facilities were second to none, often 30+ servings for tea on a primus stove set up on Mundesley or other car park. I now see we had a very privileged childhood β¦β
This film is part of a lovely home movie collection donated to the East Anglian Film Archive by Ray Taylor. The 8mm films (some 30 odd reels) were made by his father, also Ray, Raymond Ernest Taylor, and were filmed circa 1959 to the mid 1970s. The Taylor family lived on Spencer Street in Norwich for a time and they also had a family shop in Norwich called Tongs (Ray Senior was married to Ethel Tong) which was located on Magdalen Street.
