Overview

This issue contains two items. The first concentrates on slag, the material left over from the mining of minerals. Previously considered a waste product, it can be specially treated and then used by the building industry for concrete beams (when mixed with cement), interior wall facing and bricks. The second item follows RAF aircraft on a daylight raid on the Philips works at Eindhoven, Holland. Despite the loss of twelve aircraft, the raid is considered a success.
