The East Anglian Film Archive, the first and largest Regional Film Archive in England, was established in 1976. Since 1984, EAFA has been owned and operated by the University of East Anglia, Norwich (UEA), to support research and work to preserve our moving image heritage. More than 250 hours are freely available online as examples of the wide range of film which attracts interest the world over.

Overview
A proud company history produced by Ransomes Film Unit. It shows their vast works producting ploughs, lawnmowers and other specialist engineering, from the drama of the foundry and drop forge, to the quiet concentration of the laboratory. We're shown the apprenticeship scheme and social activities, publicity and awards at shows and exhibitions. Ransomes' equipment is seen in use in a range of environments overseas.
Ransomes, Sims and Jefferies Ltd was a major British agricultural machinery maker also producing a wide range of general engineering products in Ipswich. These included traction engines, trolleybuses, ploughs, lawn mowers, combine harvesters and other ground tilling equipment. Ransomes also manufactured Direct Current electric motors in a wide range of sizes, and electric forklift trucks and tractors. They made aeroplanes during the First World War. Machinery producers at their Orwell Works in Ipswich, Suffolk was exported around the world.
